African Head Wraps

Hi Simply Naturel Readers,

While at the Natural hair gathering, I met a couple of really amazing women who specialize in African Head Wraps. For years I have been looking for new ways to wrap my natural hair, so when I met these women it felt like destiny.

In addition to their craft, they also work towards a greater cause. This cause is providing an alternative way to dress your head while undergoing Chemotherapy. Some women wish to not wear wigs, therefore draping their head with beautiful fabric is a creative alternative to changing over all appearance and boosting self esteem during a very challenging period.

  1. The head wraps were off the chain!I felt like more like a queen than ever! The women who make the wraps are amazing with super positive vibes. They demonstrated several easy wraps to do in a few minutes that looked fabulous. I love the fact you pointed out that woman going through chemo can wear wraps as an alternative to wigs.

  2. I have used wraps for my hair since college, being only one of a few to do so. I have always admired the beauty of our African sisters who so distinctively wear their traditional garb. My questions are: Where can I find reasonably priced wraps? Can I buy fabric to make my own? What are some pictoral steps to actually doing those wraps, as I have not worn them in years and have practically forgotten how to do it?
